THIS IS POESIA
August 28 @ 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm
This is Poesia is a monthly bilingual meeting of artists, which promotes Hispanic culture in the US. and the dialogue between the different ways of understanding and practicing the Spanish language, in a neighborhood that once was the epicenter of Spanish emigration in New York, “Little Spain”.
Whenever possible, the performances will be subtitled in English.
The event is organized by the Kerouac Festival, with the poet Marcos de la Fuente, as master of ceremonies. The Kerouac Festival, which takes place in April in New York since 2016, seeks to open up the largest number of artistic expressions related to poetry. Videopoetry, djing, visual arts, theater or gastronomy will also have their own space.
This is Poesia, with an approximate duration of four hours, will be held on the last Wednesday of each month and is intended to be an appointment for the New York artistic community, a safe place of meeting, meeting and exchange open to all.
As a contemporary laboratory of artistic mixing, the event includes a bilingual OPEN MIC of music and poetry, but is not closed to any language in the world. On the contrary, we look for artistic and cultural diversity.
After ‘open mic’, a guest band or DJ will close the event, which will also have a market with clothes, accessories, books and records, and Spanish food and drink. An appointment in mini festival format, where you can enjoy the performances but also for the conversation and the encounter.
