The Dinner at Gonfarone’s
September 18 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The Dinner at Gonfarone’s tells the story of the New York years (1915 to 1919) of the young Nicaraguan poet, Salomón de la Selva, the largely unacknowledged precursor of Latino authors like Junot Díaz and Julia Álvarez. As well as producing the first book of poetry in English by an Hispanic writer, de la Selva brought together, through what he called his pan-American project, writers from all over the American continent.
Speakers at the launch will be Carmen Boullosa, Holly Peppe, Jonathan Cohen, Steven White, Esthela Calderón, and Peter Hulme.
