The play “Dos mujeres” narrates the relationship between two sisters who having the same resources and the same family structure, choose to lead two lives radically different. The oldest, traditional, lives near her parents, is married to her all life boyfriend and has three children. The small, unstable, left home at eighteen years old, and never returned.
She has dedicated herself to traveling, experimenting and alternating boyfriends and jobs.
The two women fluctuate between admiration and envy towards each other since the other one represents the alternative life they could have chosen. With only two characters, this piece portrays convincingly a topic as universal as uncertainty, constant questioning, frustration and the panic of seeing trapped in a lifestyle from which it is no longer possible to escape.
